RM Feature of the Week
On view at Automobiles of Arizona, January 16th, 2009

Without question, the 1954 Dodge Firearrow III concept car, penned by legendary Detroit designer Virgil Exner and bodied in Turin, Italy by Ghia, is one of the most notable of its kind ever built. First introduced to the public and auto show circuit in 1954 at the Detroit Autorama, this example was the third in a series of four unique creations built by the Chrysler Corporation. This extraordinary V8 Hemi-powered car was built to show and go, and is the only known concept car to break a major speed record, set by famous racer and aviatrix Betty Skelton. Today it remains in outstanding concours condition following a body-off restoration by Fran Roxas.
