Type 996. 483 bhp, 3,600 cc DOHC flat six-cylinder engine with twin turbochargers, six-speed manual transmission, fully independent front and rear suspension, and four-wheel carbon-ceramic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 2,350 mm

  • Offered from an exceptional Swiss Porsche collection
  • The most powerful variant of the 996-generation 911
  • Just over 24,000 kilometres from new
  • Finished in traditional silver over black
  • Desirable Clubsport version

Introduced to replace the 993 GT2, the 996 GT2 was built in the same vein as its predecessor, offering the maximum level of performance that Porsche could squeeze into the 911. The GT2 brought more power, less weight, and a much more aggressive look than the 911 Turbo, satisfying horsepower junkies looking for a ride that was sure to make the hair on the back of their neck stand up.

With more horsepower than the Turbo and rear-wheel drive instead of all-wheel drive, piloting a 911 GT2 demands all of its driver’s attention and certainly is not for the faint of heart. Power was increased through fitting larger KKK24 turbochargers and increasing boost pressure to 14.5 psi. A lightweight aluminium crankcase and pistons were utilised, as well as forged connecting rods, Nikasil-lined bores, and dual valve springs with hydraulic tappets were fitted to the engine to increase power. The GT2 was lowered by 0.8 in and through removing the four-wheel-drive system, as well as fitting manually operated sports seats, ceramic disc brakes, and removing the 911’s standard rear seats, the GT2 weighs 220 pounds less than the Turbo.

The 2004 model year saw a handful of updates, including tweaks to the turbochargers and revised Motronic engine mapping, bringing a modest rise in output to 483 horsepower. Furthermore, a Clubsport version of the GT2 was offered, which brought further weight savings over the Mk I version. Only 70 Clubsports were built. This particular 2004 model year example is finished in traditional silver over black and has travelled just over 24,000 kilometres from new.

This well-presented example with just over 24,000 kilometres would surely make an exciting driver.

Type 996. Six-cylindres à plat, 3 600 cm3, 483 ch, 2 ACT, 2 turbocompresseurs, transmission manuelle six rapports, quatre roues indépendantes, quatre freins à disque carbone / céramique. Empattement 2 350 mm
